Facts
The Dwarf Gourami is a shy, peaceful fish that should be housed with smaller fish species of similar temperaments and/or other Gouramis. Males have a long and pointed dorsal fin, while female dorsal fins are round and short. This Gourami is prone to skin and bacteria parasites and requires excellent water quality with regular water changes. They do best in a well-planted tank that includes floating plants. The Gouramis are labyrinth fish, meaning they have poorly developed gills, and need easy access to the water surface so that they can breathe using their unique breathing organ, the labyrinthine.
