Facts
The Flame Dwarf Gourami is a peaceful fish that should be housed with other fish of similar temperaments and sizes. Males may become territorial towards one and other. They do best in groups with more females than males. Males and females have similar colourations, with males being more vivid in colour. They do best in a well-planted tank that includes floating plants and require excellent water quality. The Gouramis are labyrinth fish, meaning they have poorly developed gills, and need easy access to the water surface so that they can breathe using their unique breathing organ, the labyrinthine.
