Facts
This hermit crab hails from the Hawaiian Islands and is a great addition to your clean up crew. They will eat green algae and cyanobacteria while rummaging though your substrate while simultaneously aerating it. They do grow larger than most hermits though, and can inadvertently knock over small rocks and corals if they are loose. Like all hermit crabs, if they don't find an empty shell that they would like to move into, or are underfed, they may take from a live snail.
