Facts
The Kissing Gourami should be housed with other fish of similar temperaments and sizes. Males may become territorial towards one another, in the form of "kissing", pressing their lips against one another until one backs down. They are great algae eaters however they will also eat most live plants and therefore plastic plants are recommended. The Gouramis are labyrinth fish, meaning they have poorly developed gills, and need easy access to the water surface so that they can breathe using their unique breathing organ, the labyrinthine.
